The Teaching & Learning Center (TLC) hosts events year-round that bring together UCSC educators to explore meaningful, timely topics in teaching and learning. Our events are designed to spark ideas, build community, and support transformative teaching practices.

Convocation
Each year, the TLC hosts a convocation to bring together educators from across the campus and local community to reflect on significant topics in higher education. The keynote address is free and open to the public.
Experiential Learning Summit
The Experiential Learning Summit brings together faculty, staff, graduate students, and campus partners engaged in hands-on, community-based, and field-based learning at UC Santa Cruz. Building on the work of the inaugural 2024 summit, this annual gathering advances equity, visibility, and support for experiential learning across disciplines. The day offers opportunities to share progress, address challenges, and develop strategies to expand transformative learning experiences for students.
Teaching Week
Teaching Week is a campus-wide celebration of innovative and equity-minded teaching at UC Santa Cruz. Through a series of events—including the Teaching Symposium, the Distinguished Teaching Award address, and interactive sessions on timely topics—we highlight the practices that deepen learning, foster student success, and inspire meaningful teaching.
