Teaching Team Roles
A teaching team consists of all the instructional support staff attached to a course.
These roles can include:
- Instructor
- Graduate student or undergraduate student Teaching Assistant(s) (TAs)
- Course Assistant(s) (CAs)
- Readers
- Undergraduate tutors (such as via Learning Support Services)
- Undergraduate learning assistants
- Embedded Learning Support Advisors (LSAs) through the Academic Excellence Program (ACE)
The Value of Collaboration
Collaboration amongst all members of a teaching team can support pedagogical coherence, create the sense of a course community, and support student learning. These resources provide support and guidance for building and sustaining a teaching team, with particular attention to the role of working with TAs within a teaching team.
