Rethinking Grades, Centering Learning
Are you looking for ways to reduce student stress, center the learning process, and align your grading practices with your values? The Ungrading Learning Community offers a supportive space to explore, experiment, and reflect with colleagues across campus.
This learning community is open to all UCSC educators—graduate students, postdocs, lecturers, and Senate faculty—whether you are brand-new to ungrading or already have years of experience. Together, participants will:
- Explore readings and resources on ungrading and equitable assessment
- Share practical strategies and examples
- Workshop grading plans and ideas
- Reflect on power, positionality, and the role of grades in learning
- Build a supportive, cross-disciplinary community
How to Participate
A program schedule and interest form for AY 2025–26 will be posted at a later date.
Reach out if you’d like more information about the Ungrading Learning Community.
