► How to Support Non-Participating Students
When Students Stop Participating
Every instructor encounters situations where a student disengages from a course or has a long absence. This resource outlines the limited set of options available for supporting non-participating undergraduate students.
A non-participating student is one who has stopped attending class and/or submitting work for an extended period. You may notice the absence yourself through missed classes or assignments, or you might hear about it from the student, a TA, an advisor, or a classmate. If you observe that a student is no longer participating, it’s important to intervene.
