Aide Macias-Muñoz

Aide Macias-Muñoz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Her research focuses on understanding the genetic underpinnings of complex trait evolution. Specifically, she is interested in investigating what genetic elements contribute to the evolution of light detection and regeneration in jellyfish and relatives. In her teaching, she is interested in developing inclusive teaching practices, creating classroom opportunities for research, and supporting students in growing both soft and hard skills in STEM, cultivating a scientific identity.
