Ariana Yancey

Ariana received her B.A. in Biology with a minor in health education and an M.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology. She is currently a 4th year student in the Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology department under the Program in Biomedical Sciences in Engineering. Her current research focuses on understanding the mechanisms that control cell size and cell cycle progression.

During her quarters as a teaching assistant, she thrives to create an inclusive space to support a diversity of backgrounds and learning preferences while providing a positive experience when engaging with science. Her mentorship includes a holistic approach in order to help students reach their goals. She looks forward to developing and employing new techniques to continue fostering success in academia.

The Graduate Pedagogy Fellowship serves as a wonderful opportunity for her to collaborate with peers who are equally thrilled to discuss transformative teaching strategies. She aims to improve her style of educating both her undergraduate and graduate counterparts. Most importantly, she looks forward to utilizing her expertise in Biology to create meaningful experiences for future generations of scientists.
