
Boluwaji Ajayi is a PhD student in the Department of Anthropology (Archaeology Track) whose teaching and mentoring focus on fostering inclusivity and critical engagement in archaeological scholarship. Specializing in historical archaeology, social complexity, and heritage studies, his research investigates everyday life in frontier settlements in the Yoruba-Edo region of Southwest Nigeria during the precolonial and colonial eras. Through interdisciplinary and community-centered approaches, he emphasizes collaborative archaeology that values local knowledge and promotes equitable knowledge production. Boluwaji is deeply committed to creating learning environments where students can explore diverse perspectives and develop meaningful connections between research and community engagement.
