Brittney Jimenez

Brittney is a Ph.D. student in Latin American and Latino Studies, where her research focuses on youth organizing in relation to the Chicano Movement and how young women utilize oral histories to inform their identity and activism. She has served as a mentor for undergraduate and graduate students at UCSC and hopes to continue to grow as a resource. As a Graduate Pedagogy Fellow, Brittney hopes to improve her pedagogy skills to build an inclusive, collaborative classroom that uplifts students’ experiences. She also looks forward to supporting her colleagues in the LALS Department to continue the community-oriented transformative approaches that inform our teaching practices.
