Graduate Pedagogy Fellow in Chemistry & Biochemistry (2023)
Chayo Fuentes is a third-year Ph.D. candidate studying polymer chemistry in the Braslau Lab. Her research focuses on upcycling waste plastics into chemical products that have commercial value. She is passionate about teaching and has diverse experience in teaching chemistry, marine biology, classical music, and K-6 elementary school. As a Graduate Pedagogy Fellow, she looks forward to improving her ability to teach in a more equitable and accessible way. She ultimately aims to teach organic chemistry at the community college level.
