Deewang Bhamidipati is a PhD student in the Mathematics department; his research broadly concerns the interplay between number theory, algebraic geometry and topology. He is passionate about creating a student-centred classroom and making mathematics more accessible to all students. At UCSC, Deewang has been a TA and GSI for various mathematics classes, co-founded the UCSC Association for Women in Mathematics chapter, and was one of the inaugural Head TAs for Support and Mentorship in the Mathematics department. As a Graduate Pedagogy Fellow, he is excited to collaborate with other like-valued educators to support diverse student communities and increase accessibility in mathematics classrooms.
