Jennifer Horne is an Associate Professor of Film + Digital Media. Through her research, she explores issues of media citizenship, cinematic practices of governmentality, and institutional discourses of civic engagement on screen. Her teaching seeks to expand the usefulness of moving image history and film criticism for students beyond its disciplinary comfort zones of aesthetics and entertainment. She offers courses in film historiography, media theory (especially nonfiction), and film theory for both undergraduates and graduate students.
