Jordan Ward

Associate Professor, MCD Biology

Jordan Ward is Canadian and was a transfer student from Red Deer College to the University of Alberta. His research focuses on how biological timers work to control development, how extracellular matrices like skin are built and maintained, and the genetic pathways controlling sperm development. He teaches courses in the areas of molecular biology and critical analysis of the scientific literature. In 2019, he was awarded a National Science Foundation CAREER grant with a focus on promoting transfer student success and equity at UCSC. After being a Faulty Fellow in 2019-2020 and 2020-21, he is excited about returning with the focus this year on the transfer student experience.
