Justine Parkin

Summer GSI Peer Support Team (2024); Graduate Pedagogy Fellow in History of Consciousness (2024)

Justine Parkin is PhD Candidate in the History of Consciousness Department who studies ecological literatures and politics with a focus on indigenous thought in the Island Pacific. She has experience teaching at the high school and college level, has served as a graduate mentor to undergrads (at University of Oregon and UC Santa Cruz), and is a 2024 Graduate Pedagogy Fellow with TLC. For her, academic research is inextricable from pedagogical practice. As an ecological thinker, she aspires in her research, teaching, and writing to model an ethics of care to meet the challenges of the present.
