Kendra Dority

Director for Graduate Student and Postdoc Professional Development

At the TLC, Kendra Dority leads up our professional development programs for graduate student educators and contributes to several faculty programs. She enjoys uplifting the strengths that graduate students bring to their roles as TAs and GSIs on campus as she develops programs, workshops, and resources that center equity-minded teaching and course design. She also currently serves as Chair of the UC Teaching & Learning Center Consortium (2023-2024).

Kendra joined the UCSC teaching community in 2009, serving as a Teaching Fellow and Teaching Assistant in the Literature Department and as a Lecturer at Porter College before joining the TLC in 2017. She received her Ph.D. in Literature from UCSC, with research on reading practices, linguistic justice, and ethical pedagogy in ancient Greek and 20th-century U.S. Latinx literatures.
