Matthew Clapham is a Professor in the Earth and Planetary Science department at UC Santa Cruz. As a CITL/PBSci Faculty Fellow, he aims to improve Earth Science majors’ transition from lower-division to upper-division coursework by designing active learning exercises and scaffolding the learning of higher-order skills in a gateway upper-division course.
