Assistant Vice Provost for Educational Innovation
Michael Tassio is the Assistant Vice Provost for Educational Innovation, where his role is to provide leadership for the team of instructional designers and technologists responsible for supporting educators to integrate technology into teaching and learning contexts. Michael’s passion for teaching and learning with technology was cemented while teaching his first hybrid course on philosophical debate, in which the use of technology significantly improved student engagement and learning, and particularly so for the most marginalized students. Michael was an undergraduate student at UC Santa Cruz (philosophy and anthropology), and he has worked on campus since 2003.
