Natalie Pedicino

Graduate Pedagogy Fellow in Molecular, Cell & Developmental Biology (2023)

Natalie Pedicino is a PhD student with a passion for bettering science communication and science education. Their research is focused on understanding a poorly understood gut virus called Astrovirus with a focus on viral replication and immune response. Throughout undergraduate and graduate school, they have mentored peers and students in academic settings, and hope to use their time at UCSC to provide graduate students in STEM with a broader range of resources to help develop a more equitable and accessible classroom for their students. In the long-term, they intend to pursue a teaching career at a community college or small state university.
