Sanya Cowal

Graduate Pedagogy Fellow in Environmental Studies (2023)

Sanya Cowal is a second-year Ph.D. student in the Environmental Studies department. She researches the ecological and social dynamics of coffee systems in Chiapas, Mexico. Her engagement with inclusive and equitable mentorship started with music education and has since expanded to academia. As a pedagogy fellow, she is excited to collaborate with other graduate students to support diverse student communities through curriculum reform and equitable teaching practices.
