Shane Scopatz

Graduate Pedagogy Fellow in Environmental Art & Social Practice (2023)

Shane Scopatz is an MFA student in Environmental Art and Social Practice. As a professional contemporary dancer and choreographer, he taught movement classes for dancers and non-dancers internationally. At UCSC, he’s invested in growing as an arts educator in higher-ed through his TA appointments. Shane looks forward to learning about pedagogy as a CITL Grad Pedagogy Fellow with an interdisciplinary community and hopes to develop a deep understanding of active learning techniques, equity in the classroom, and democratic pedagogy.
