Graduate Pedagogy Fellow in Mathematics (2023)
Sophie Aiken is a third year PhD student in the Mathematics department. While at UCSC she has TAed for a variety of courses, and she has taken an interest in the accessibility of gateway math courses. She hopes to learn with her peers about how she can increase accessibility and diversity in math to increase student retention. She believes math prerequisites should not hold students back from excelling in their chosen fields.
