Suzanne Alonzo

Suzanne Alonzo is a Professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. She was awarded the National Science Foundation Early CAREER Award, which is NSF’s “most prestigious award in support of junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education, and the integration of education and research.” While a professor at Yale University, she received the Yale Graduate Mentorship Award and the Yale Postdoctoral Mentorship Prize, in recognition of her commitment to the education and mentorship of young scientists. As a CITL Faculty Fellow, she developed resources and curricula based on the intersection of contemplative pedagogy and active learning approaches in science. As a CITL Faculty Associate, Suzanne is working with the CITL Team to offer workshops and other resources on inclusive mentoring.
